Welcome to the Lochcarron Roll of Honour for the fallen Heroes of WW1.

This research was compiled by Paul Swan to commemorate the centenary of the start of WW1. It was done over many months with invaluable assistance from the local community.  In trying to compile this Roll of Honour a century after the event proved challenging. A lot of the hand written records had suffered damage in the blitz of WW2, so much of the remaining information was fragmentary or non existent. However members of the community came forward with stories and information about their fathers, grandfathers, uncles or for-bearers. In particular great assistance was provided by Kenny “Jek” MacKenzie through his local knowledge and research work with members of the community.
The project has been supported through the Lochcarron Community Development Company with assistance from The Voluntary Action fund.

The information about the men on the Roll of Honour has been published as a book, which is available at the LCDC Gift shop at the Smithy for £12.50, or via mail order for £15 ( price for UK postage), contact us via lochcarronkwhg@gmail.com to purchase.
All the information on this site is searchable by names, regiments, rank via the ‘tags’ on the right hand side.
